"Celibacy and Transmutation of Sexual Energy for Deeper Meditation" might be the most comprehensive book and focus about this subject. Many spiritual books i've read usually just mention it occasionally or just go straight to the point that being celibate is an important thing for spiritual growth. But this book explain all aspects possible about celibacy. Starts with why is it important, the process on sexual energy transmutation, useful tips and suggestions for success in being celibate like what are the best activities to transmute sexual energy and what kind of diet that help. This book also give warnings about the dangers of being celibate without doing efforts, like meditation/yoga/devotion, to transmute reserved sexual energy as the result from being celibate. The important concept in celibacy, Ojas, is also well explained.

I think this book is more like compilation of few articles about celibacy, not kind a book presents in chapters.

Finally, if you are really interesting and curious about celibacy like me or even planning to be celibate, since this subject is really must for spiritual growth, i think you'll enjoy reading this book.

Very comprehensive book on Brahmacharya (spiritual celibacy)

Not all understand the fundamentals of successfully master your sexual energies. Many books gives pieces of information but not the whole picture. The keys can be summarized as: * right quality of your nutritional intake and drinking plenty of high quality water. * saving your sexual essence * transmuting it to Ojas or the spiritual "glue" that connects us to the universal pranic field. The author also talks about the importance of certain adaptogenic herbs that can help a person in achieving a good "inner fire". Overall this book is a perfect introduction for understanding the incredible benefits of saving your sexual energy and transforming it to light. bliss and ultimately enlightenment.

Excellent information. This type of information was not widely known to me and I even had been given much contrary information. After experiencing both sides of the issue I favor the approach put forth in this book. There are many benefits to a life of celibacy and celibacy may not be as bad as some may think or even mean what you thought. There is additional information recommending adaptogenic herbs which I had not tried. I am pleased with the results of adding adaptogenic herbs such as Nature's Way Ginseng, Korean, 60 Capsules to my diet as well and am thankful to the author for suggesting such things.

A wonderful deep story of two cultures

This should have 10 stars. I an 83 yr. old that has read over a thousand books since I got an adult library card at age 6. I have had to slow down my reading because of eye trouble, but the ability of the paperwhite to increase font size had helped me keep my speed up. But this book is the best thing I come across in years. I was born in upper Minnesota and spent time on the Sioux reservation. I've also read some things about Custer and The Little Big Horn. All were weak in early detail and the culture. This book delves deeply into BOTH the lives of Custer and Crazy Horse.and their opposite cultures. For anyone interested in the early West and the lives of the Indian tribes as opposed to the upbringing of Custer will find it all here.

This book is as educational as it is enjoyable. It is nearly a five star. There is a great deal of information on incidents and details of both high adventure-war with the whites and raids on other Indian groups- and everyday life in both the Indian villages and the white towns and cities. There is a very good look into the life of a boy growing up in American Indian (PC-Native American) society.
In war the Indians emphasized bravery and the individual so the Indian concept of leadership-"I will follow you if I want but you will not tell me to do anything" was news to me and I have studied war in more than one US service school.
The illumination of the lack of decency and moral character in the upper ranks of the US Army was depressing. Treaties made with no intention of abiding by them on the part of the Army while the Indian assumed the treaty was fixed and not to be compromised. This placed the Indian at a great disadvantage.
The politics of promotion in the General ranks is brought out as is the pecking order among the wives of the Generals.

Very readable, informative story of the post-Civil War Plains.

I thought this was an excellent examination of the parallel societies of the plains in the post-Civil War period. Although I wonder how accurate the information about Crazy Horse can possibly be, I was still fascinated by the contrast between the motives of these two historical figures. Although they shared some important traits (such as impetuousness and bravery), I found the chasm between them to be more interesting. Sadly, Custer's culture was to completely overwhelm that of Crazy Horse in a way that Crazy Horse never could have imagined. It is the ultimate tragedy of the American experience: in order to advance the interests of the United States, white Americans were willing to destroy other cultures, whether in North America or Africa. Thankfully, Ambrose does not get bogged down in many of those discussions, but chooses instead to focus on the way things happened, for better or worse. Of course, it is easy to draw one's own conclusions when faced with the facts, and Ambrose allows the reader to do so (for the most part - there is a bit of apologism for the US government). I would strongly recommend this book for the casual historian looking for a good read. I definitely feel like I learned a lot from this book.

I. Glenn Cohen is a professor at Harvard Law School and faculty director of the Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology, and Bioethics. Great source for reference.

When i was trying to ramp on salt, this book proved to be a very good resource.
Having common tasks already solved helped me a lot to wrap my head around how salt operates.
Not all the recipes apply to your needs, some seem a bit simple but you can learn something from all of them.

Cookbooks are not traditional books that will take you by the hand or explain concepts, but once you have read up on the theory a cookbook, like this one, is very nice to help you ground the concepts.

If you are ramping up SALT Stack at your company or if you want to see practical examples on how to accomplish a variety of tasks, this book is for you.

A bit of a disappointment.

I have a couple of books about salt from packt and this one was a bit disappointing. This one was the second salt book I bought. I got the learning salt title first and I was hoping the cookbook would build on the learning salt book and get beyond basic stuff like installing packages, managing files and services and into bigger things like demonstrating how to use salt for orchestrating deployments across multiple nodes, or managing multi-tier applications but the book never really got beyond introductory material focused on a single node. One of the key features of Salt is that it brings robust remote execution capabilities to the table. That's a killer feature of Salt and it's not really explored in any depth. That's a missed opportunity. The "advanced administration tasks" chapter focused on recipes for installing packages and managing files and services. The book explores installing ruby and python modules and fiddling with repos but that's not particularly advanced stuff or a unique benefit of using Salt. The chapters included don't really hang together well or make a cohesive whole. It's a hodge podge of topics. What I was hoping for was a greater focus on the things that make Salt different and unique and how to use those things that are interesting and unique about Salt to get work done. The treatment of Grains and Pillar --- Key elements of salt -- are explored with shallow and contrived examples and I don't really get a good explanation of why I should care about either of those features even though they are extraordinarily powerful and easy to use. At best, I get an introductory and perfunctory survey of both. I guess what I'm missing are recipes that can help me get from being a Salt Newbie to a skilled Salt operator with an understanding of the preferred conventions of the Salt Community and useful examples of meaningful solutions to day-to-day problems that illustrate why I should want to get my work done using Salt rather than using Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc. The Packt Cookbooks are usually good for getting a few tips and things you can implement in your environment that are beyond the basics and solve actual problems. This book doesn't really give me that.

What this book does give you is good introductory material for beginners that want to learn salt by implementing a collection of basic operational tasks (like how to install packages, manage files and services). If you've been working with Puppet or Chef for example, this book can give you a way for translating concepts but beyond that, you'll need to look elsewhere.

About the Author
Steve Attewell was born in the sleepy village of Fair Oak in the south of England in the peak of the long, hot summer of 1975. He thinks this might be why he doesn't like the cold very much. His first published book of amusing poetry for kids is "Once, I Laughed My Socks Off".

Very good!

I went ahead & gave this short, (& I do mean short), book 5 stars because the poems are great. They are about 3 to 5 pages long. Not the average 4~liners. I laughed a little expecially about the runaway socks, so I know my Goddaughter will fall out laughing. I used similar kid books, simple games, jokes, & etc. to entertain the whole family while the power was out one day, & it turned out to be so much fun, & a time of bonding. I will search for other books like this one to have on hand. I would pay up to about $1.50 for this one as is, but I'd pay $6.00 if it were longer. It is that good!

Children Will Love These!

I am not a poem person since I don't understand most of them but I loved the title and cover and it was free! These were really cute and I could picture what the different characters were doing while reading these poems. A couple reminded me of Dr. Seuss. Very cute and I think kids and adults will get a kick out of them.

Awesome for the reluctant reader

I got this for the 4th grade poetry project for my daughter. She is a reluctant reader, but these poems were so funny and engaging for her, that she read her assigned number of poems without complaint. She even memorized one to share with the class.
