Review
This is a landmark book…It is refreshing, bold in its approach, instructional and informative. The authors have taken a proven therapy model for children ages 3-12 and explained how to expand it into new territory to include educational settings and multiple treatment needs. Child therapist/counselors and educators alike will be pleased with this new tool to help them navigate the complexities of dealing with families and their children in today’s changing social structures. This is a book that should be read by all CCPT therapists whether fully experienced or just beginning to consider CCPT training. (AFREM News (Association for Filial and Relationship Enhancement Methods)

Excellent Book!
By Megan
Rarely have I encountered a textbook that is so easy to read as well as extremely educational. By the time I finished reading this book, I felt extremely enlightened on the topic of Child-Centered Play Therapy and I also felt comfortable attempting the strategies outlined in the text. The authors make a very compelling argument for CCPT and answer any concerns a skeptic might have about their approach. The flow of the chapters is logical and helpful and the examples provided in each chapter greatly augment the respective concepts. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is considering working with children in any capacity, two thumbs up!

I highly recommend this textbook for mental health professionals and parents. The child-centered approach has proven to be highly effective in the growth and development of children. Mike's Feedback on this book
By Mike
Authors provide a thorough explanation of Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT). They make a strong case that CCPT is an effective intervention for youth through case examples and citing the results of quantitative and qualitative empirical research studies. Furthermore, authors provide activities that readers can do individually or in groups to practice their CCPT skills. I would recommend this textbook to casual readers, parents, and practitioners who are interested in learning about CCPT. This is one textbook that I will not be selling back to the bookstore.
